ISTE Student and Teacher Standards

These standards are a guide for what should be happening in our classrooms. Many companies and web based services follow these standards when developing materials for education. Integrating an LMS into the K-12 Classroom

This session will show educators how to integrate learning management systems (LMS) into their individual classrooms. With an LMS, classroom educators can give students more flexibility over when and where they complete assignments. Educators can also use the LMS to make planning and assessment more efficient and time-saving. Participants will learn the pros and cons of several free K-12 LMS platforms, ways to build the shell of their LMS, creating individual classes and adding students, incorporating the LMS into their classroom, and how to design assignments and assessments to take advantage of the LMS. Participants will also be able to see examples of LMSs in action in K-12 classrooms.
