WVSTC to Feature Dr. Leanna Prater and Derek Bruff, PhD as Keynote Speakers 

MORGANTOWN, W.VA. – The West Virginia Statewide Technology Conference is excited to announce that Dr. Leanna Prater, Sr. Professional Learning Manager at LEGO Education, and Derek Bruff, PhD, educator, author, and higher ed consultant, will be keynote speakers at the conference taking place in Morgantown, West Virginia from July 19-21, 2023. 

Dr. Prater brings a wealth of experience to the field of education, having previously worked as an elementary teacher, district technology specialist, and adjunct professor at Georgetown College in Kentucky. She currently provides thought leadership and strategic solutioning for professional learning at LEGO Education, where she supports educators in bringing hands-on playful learning to their classrooms. She is also an advocate for STEM and computer science for all and supports classroom teachers and students in areas such as robotics and creative computing. 

Dr. Bruff is an experienced educator and higher ed consultant, having directed the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching for over a decade. He has also authored two books, Intentional Tech: Principles to Guide the Use of Educational Technology in College Teaching (West Virginia University Press, 2019) and Teaching with Classroom Response Systems: Creating Active Learning Environments (Jossey-Bass, 2009). He consults regularly with faculty and administrators across higher education on issues of teaching, learning, and faculty development.

The West Virginia Statewide Technology Conference is an annual event that brings together educators, technology leaders, and industry experts to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices for integrating technology into the classroom.
