Presentation Title: “Create, Code, and Play: Unlocking Student Creativity with Canva Code”
Explore Canva Code—Canva's new coding tool for students and educators! Learn how to build custom websites, apps, and content using Code with Me. Discover how this feature can spark creativity, support project-based learning, and bring coding into any classroom.
Step into the world of creative coding with Canva’s newest innovation—Canva Code. This hands-on session introduces educators to Code with Me, an exciting feature in Canva for Education that allows students and teachers to design custom websites, apps, games, and interactive tools—all within the familiar Canva interface.
We'll explore ready-made project ideas for elementary classrooms, like kindness counters and eco-helpers, and then level up with middle and high school examples—coding embedded quizzes, interactive timelines, custom calculators, and simple games that live inside Canva presentations, portfolios, or digital breakout rooms.
Participants will:
See real examples of student-ready projects across grade levels.
Learn how to get started with Canva Code and Code with Me.
Play a few interactive Canva Code games.
Build or remix a project during guided time using templates and support.
Walk away with ideas and resources to bring coding into any content area.
No coding experience necessary—just curiosity and creativity! Whether you teach kindergarten or AP Computer Science, Canva Code makes coding approachable, visual, and fun.

As instructional technology coordinator of Berkeley County Schools, I support and inspire innovative teaching and learning. My role allows me to focus on emerging technologies and equip teachers with the skills necessary to implement them effectively. Canva released important updates last May (2025) to our Canva for Education accounts and "Code with Me" opens up significant doors for both teachers and students!
