This presentation will offer a look into the data of the current state of CS education in WV. We will examine the need for CS Education in WV and how we (CodeWV) can help expand Computer Science in k-12 WV Schools. Special focus will be given to middle and secondary education.

Description

This presentation will offer a look into the data of the current state of CS education in WV. We will look at the current legislative criteria for CS offerings as well as how the state compares to the states surrounding WV. We will look at where the current gaps are in CS Education and talk about what is currently happening to address those gaps. We will also talk about AI education and the professional development opportunities we offer k-12 teachers. More information will be provided to attendees on how they can get involved. This session will be focused on Middle and Secondary Education).
