Presentation Title: “What Can WVROCKS Do For You?”
WVROCKS is the West Virginia Remote Online Collaborative Knowledge System, a college-level course-sharing program. This presentation will include historical information about WVROCKS, a snapshot of the current state, and some information about the future and longer-term possibilities for WVROCKS.
WVROCKS provides courses for students at all state higher education institutions. Historically this program has been primarily targeted toward degree-completion students in our Board of Governors AAS and Regents Bachelor of Arts degrees. As the program grows, we are exploring (and piloting) new initiatives such as opening up courses to all students and implementing the use of free course materials as the rule rather than the exception. This presentation can be for anyone- students, parents, k-12 educators, higher education faculty and administrators as it provides information about our course-sharing program and how it can benefit a variety of stakeholders.
