Ensuring a secure learning environment is a top priority for every school district—but balancing safety with budget constraints can be challenging. In this session you will learn about emerging school safety technology and grant pursual best practices.
•Introduction to School Security and i-PRO Grants Support Program: Ensuring secure learning environments is a priority for schools, with i-PRO providing support through its Grants Support Program since 2013, we have assisted 181 customers with grant pursual with awards totaling $47.8M across various sectors including K-12 education.
•Grant Types, Funding Sources, and Application Process: i-PRO helps identify technology-friendly grants from federal, state, and private sources, guiding schools through a three-step process: initial engagement via an online tool, customized funding reports, and consultative calls to refine projects and determine next steps, and how we can support our customers in their grant pursual process.
•Success Stories of School District Grant Utilization: Districts like MSAD17 in Maine and Upper Perkiomen in Pennsylvania secured grants ($500,000 and $449,240 respectively) to upgrade CCTV, access control, and unify security systems, with i-PRO providing application support and funding consultation.
•Contact and Ongoing Grant Funding Landscape: i-PRO offers education solutions and grant support (free of charge and no obligation) to our customers; despite shifting priorities, federal and state grants remain abundant, with the 2026 federal budget expected to clarify funding priorities, urging proactive grant pursuit.
•Preparing for Grants and Evaluating Fit: Organizations should secure leadership support, assemble teams, maintain registrations, and actively source opportunities. Evaluating grants involves reviewing allowable costs, priorities, past funded projects, and contacting program managers to ensure alignment.
